The iconic Nokia 3310, the ‘indestructible’ handset, is rumoured to be making a return and that too in less than 10 days! According to; HMD Global Oy; the Finnish manufacturer with exclusive rights to market phones under the Nokia brand, is planning to announce Nokia 3, 5 and 6 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.  Nokia 6 – the comeback Nokia android phone– has been quite a success for HMD Global.

Nokia 3310 belongs to the line of classic Nokia mobile phones that were instrumental to the company’s reign over the late 1990s and early 2000s. Most of us have memories of using Nokia handsets, and it was devastating for the fans to see the company’s decline and eventual relegation to a has-been when faced with competition from Apple’s iPhone line.
The Nokia 3310 was released in 2000, as a reasonably-priced mobile phone that has sold about 126 million units to date. Best known for it’s durability and long battery life, the 3310 acquired cult status and even saw people do some pretty weird stuff with it like putting it under a hydraulic press, or putting a red-hot nickle bar over it( needless to say those didn’t survive, but still…)

Nokia 3310 also featured a 5-line monochrome display with a simplistic interface navigated by two arrow, one dynamic menu and one cancel/ back key. It also had useful utilities including a calculator, stop watch, reminder, and a bunch of games including the unforgettable Snake II! How cool is that, you get to play snake again! Let’s not forget Space Impact(my mom got so mad when my uncle completed it on her phone),

Pairs II and Bantumi.

There were other cool things to do with the Nokia 3310 – like composing your own ringtone, or even changing the phone’s appearance with easy-to-swap Xpress-on covers. Oh, and you just might be asking around for pin ndogo again!
