It appears ‘Empire’ won’t be around for another season like producers planned. Allegedly the show is cancelled until further notice. The news comes as a shocker to many Kenyans, young and old, who had truly come to enjoy the show.

“I really enjoyed season 1. I even watched the whole season in one night! I do not believe it will stay cancelled for long though,”

Wairimu, a 27 year old mother of one said. Season one really flew off the shelves as many DVD shops sold many of the Empire series copies.

The cast released a statement following the sad news,

“We would like to thank everyone who supported the show last season. We are keeping hope alive that Lee Daniels works this out with Fox so we can get back to filming one of the biggest shows of all time.”

Actor Taraji P Henson allegedly took the news pretty hard and refused to speak about the decision at the time.

However, many claim that it would seem an odd move that the runaway success be cancelled now, even if Fox has sued to retain the ‘Empire’ name, according to the Hollywood Reporter, after receiving demands for the show to add up $5 million and hire various musical stars to perform on Empire.

So is it really true? Whatever the case might be, Kenyans, male and female, do NOT want to see the hit show cancelled and are looking forward to season 2.
