Rihanna Named Most Powerful Celeb Influencer Of 2017

Global fashion search platform Lyst has released its 2017 “The Year in Fashion” roundup.

The platform, which had over 80 million users in the last 12 months, tracked over 100 million searches to compile the data.

Rihanna landed the No 1 spot on the list. Despite the ‘Kate-Effect’, the Duchess of Cambridge only just scraped into Lyst’s top five most influential fashion icons, behind Rihanna, singer Selena Gomez, supermodel Bella Hadid, and a new royal rival, Meghan Markle, who placed at number four.  

As part of Lyst’s end-of-year fashion report, the list of the most influential stars is based on huge spikes in demand in the hours after a particular item was worn.

Rihanna has proven to be a jack of all trades in her 29 years from being a successful singer, actress and entrepreneur. Whatever she touches turns to sold as she has managed to drive crazy sales for a lot of fashion brands.

According to the website, ‘if Rihanna wore it, you wanted it’.

She sent searches soaring for Puma, Off-White, Molly Goddard and Gucci this year. Her Fenty Puma Bow Sneakers landed up being the most wanted kicks of 2017.
