Zimbabwe’s president, Robert Mugabe, recently announced that he is « not dying » at a rally in his home town after many raised concerns over his health.
The 93 year old has often been spotted sleeping during public events causing citizens and foreigners to worry about his health especially in his old age increasingly so since his party said last year that Mugabe plans to run for president again during Zimbabwe’s next elections in 2018.
This comes soon after his wife asked him to designate a successor which Mugabe refused to do. His many medical trips abroad recently were a major cause for concern but they were described as ‘routine medical check-ups’.
Recently, doctors were actually surprised by the strength of my bones,”
Mugabe said. Over the years, there have been many false rumours of Mugabe having passed away which his team quickly had to deny.
