‘The 8th edition of the Sawa Sawa Festival will take place on 5th and 6th December, 2014 at the SarakasiDome, with the opening VIP Party on Friday night 5 December and a day and night event on Saturday 6 December.This way, on 5th and 6th December the Sarakasi Dome will be turned into a multi-functional venue with catering points and areas for workshops, jam sessions, and stages for the Sarakasi Dancers and Acrobats, Live Bands, Deejays and a Boiler Room activity.The Friday ‘#SawaSawa #Hennessy #RedCarpet’ Opening: this evening will be the official opening of the Festival with a themed Red Carpet VIP party. On the line up are #H_Art the Band, #Sarabi, the#AllStarDeejays and a Sarakasi Circus-Dance Production. All artists, suppliers and sponsors will be invited for the VIP party which will also be open to the public. Simultaneously there will be a Deejay Boiler Room event on our rooftop which will be hosted by the Santuri Safari Deejays. The evening will accumulate into a spectacular firework show at midnight.Saturday ‘Party till you Drop’: daytime will be dedicated to youth and will stage Live Hip-Hop and Reggae. On the line up are an open mike session, Hip Hop artists #Kalamashaka, #Khaligraph &#Oksyde, #Nafsi Huru and Smallz Lethal and Reggaeartist Meekie & Humble and the Sojourners Band. In addition workshops will include Graffiti as well as Poetry Workshops led by Kenyan spoken word artists Kenneth B and Sitawa complimented by Ugandan Poet Slim Emcee. For the evening program Deejay #JoeMfalme, #P-UNIT and #Size 8 are on the line up. During this whole day the Sarakasi Dancers and Acrobats will be part of the program.
