Trending on twitter today is the hash tag #DepotRuto’sPilot. This is after a video of the Deputy president’s Pilot was caught on tape in Nyandarua assaulting a Kenyan police officer.
Early today, a statement was released by the inspector general saying he surrenders himself to the nearest police station.
Yes, she is Kenyan indeed and the pilot is white, from Britain. This particular act has yet again stirred the racism bowl in the country with Kenyans on Twitter expressing what they think of the matter at hand.
Some of the Kenyans mentioned the fact that those present just stood there and watched the pilot assault the police officer.
Are we still mentally colonized? They asked. This act has come just after cases where we saw the male chauvinistic attitude in our own country. Are the whites still controlling us even after independence?
People raged on Twitter about the video;
“We will create a million jobs every year” and a mzungu employee in Kenya is harassing our men and women in uniform! #DeportRutosPilot

But I blame the people of Nyandarua. Why stand and watch as the poor woman being beaten? Piga mtu tucase baadaye!#DeportRutosPilot

Ruto said “Raila depends on wazungu to sort his problems.” Ruto couldn’t employ a Kenyan as his chopper pilot? #DeportRutosPilot

Whatever people might say, Kenyans should learn to stand up for their rights and let the other races know that it is not about the color of your skin or your ethnic back ground but the quality of your work. It costs nothing, for one to act like a civilized and a morally upright being.
I believe the Deputy president will address this issue on time. Kenyans need not to burry their heads in the sand anymore. It is time for change.
