Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine from Uganda was yesterday blocked from leaving Uganda for the United States of America where he was set to receive further treatment.
In a long Facebook post by his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi, she narrated the yet another painful ordeal that the musician turned politician had to go through.
“Bobi has been violently arrested by security forces at Entebbe Airport as he was heading to Washington USA for treatment even when he has clearance from court to travel.
She continued to say that he had acquired all the necessary paper work needed to show why he supposed to leave the country but the government of Uganda wanted to hear none of that. After roughly forcing him into a waiting ambulance, Barbie says those who arrested her husband switched off the lights and beat him up again right in front of the government doctor.
Earlier in the day, another Ugandan MP Francis Zaake was also blocked from leaving the country for further treatment in India and his travel documents were also confiscated by the government.
Bobi Wine was first arrested on August 14th after President Museveni’s convoy was alleged stoned. Bobi and a number of other legislatures who were being blamed for the incident were then taken into custody and allegedly tortured an incident that has now seen some of them badly injured.
