sonuAs the SONU Election Day grows nearer, so does the tension, so does the anxiety, so does the dirt and most certainly, the drama.

Saturday 22nd February was a day to reckon with. One of the SONU presidential aspirants, wait for it, Babu Owino was at it again. This time to ‘endorse’ some aspirants for is line-up, otherwise known as #bigballskende.

The meeting, held at the University of Nairobi’s Graduation Square was to say the least, well attended. The positions up for endorsement were: Secretary General, Finance Secretary and Organizing Secretary. Any political Scientist will tell you that this is a smart political move, meant for the aspirants aspiring to be endorsed bring their supporters to attend the rally which will be addressed by Babu, leaving the rest to fight amongst themselves.

Bottom line is, you bring the crowd to them rather than let the crowd follow them. This can allude to rule number 3 in The 48 laws of power:

  1. Conceal your intensions. Keep people off balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare the defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelop them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions it will be too late.
