Kenya’s premier betting site SportPesa yesterday announced a sponsorship deal with English Premer League side Everton FC. SportPesa will be the new sponsors for the new Everton Football Club in the new season which will start in August this year. This means that they will replace Chang Beer who have been kit sponsors for the Club in 13 years.
Reports by The Daily Mail says that SportPesa will appear on Everton’s playing shirts for the next five seasons as the deal runs for 5 years. SportPesa who also sponsor Hull City will build its headquater in Liverpool creating over 70 jobs.
Ivo Buzokov, director of global strategy for SportPesa met with Everton CEO Robert Elstone to seal the 5 year partnership deal between the two. Buzokov said that it was a proud moment for SportPesa to sponsor a great club like Everton who have a rich history and traditions.The Daily Mail also quoted Elstone as saying the move to have a European office by SportPesa in Liverpool and creating jobs is a significant investment and would help build its brand.
SportPesa has had a rapid growth since its start in 2014 and now sponsors the Kenyan Premier league and is also the African gaming partner of the Spanish La Liga. This new deal with Everton will only improve its relevance in the online gaming filed and push its profits higher up the ladder.
