As per the constitution, the president is mandated to address the nation every year in what is called the state of the nation address.

In his address, the president is expected to out line the achievements he has made since he got into power and those that he is still working on.

The war on corruption and handshake politics are expected to top President Uhuru Kenyatta’s State of the Nation address in the afternoon.

As per the Constitution ,President Kenyatta will outline measures and progress taken in fulfilling Article 10 of the Constitution on national values, international obligations and the status of the country’s national security.

This as he fulfills Article 132 of the Constitution that requires him to address Parliament every year on his administrations progress.

The President is also expected to once again clear the air on the handshake deal with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
