As people were anxiously waiting for Elani to take the stage on the 29th of November, Kenyan universities were playing against each other for the coveted crown of ‘kings of rugby’ just next door at the RFUEA grounds.

According to Kenya University Sports Association (KUSA), Nairobi side, Strathmore Leos are the Kings of Rugby after thrashing Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) 62-5. Apparently MMUST gave up after already conceding four tries.

Speaking after the games, Strathmore coach Mitch Ocholla claimed all his players gave a good account of themselves.

“Credit goes to Michael Wanjala, who led the team and was also instrumental in training in preparation for the tournament,” he said. “The boys have worked well and they deserve all the plaudits.”

The winners walked away with 150k while losing finalists bagged 75k . Quite a nice reward right?? Big up Strathmore Leos!!
