Jeffrey Wilson is the founder of the amazing JW Show, can also be dubbed as the Kenyan ‘Project Runway.’ His initiative takes him and his team to various Kenyan counties to find outstanding models.

We sat with him to know how the journey has been going so far..

What inspires your initiative?

Growth of Kenyan fashion made in Kenya by Kenyans.

Which celebrities have you worked with before(locally and internationally)?

Amina Abdi, Angela Muiruri, Nick Mutuma, Kobi Kihara and Hamed(a tanzanian celebrity designer).

What challenges do you face as an entrepreneur?

No good jobs,mistreatment,fake agencies and lack of sponsors. As a fashion TV producer and event organizer i want to bring change to the industry.

What are your expectations for the Tharaka Nithi county auditions?

I am looking for the best designers in terms of creativity not tailors.Stitching,measurements,drawing,model search which will include good physique,good height,etiquette and discipline.

When did you start holding auditions at different counties?

Two weeks ago in Taita Taveta and Uasin Gishu county in Eldoret.

How many people showed up at the auditions?

Over 100 models and 15 designers.

In which county did you receive the most models?

Uasin Gishu County

What are you looking for?

Creative designers with good portfolios to uplift Kenyan fashion and for the models good height,good etiquette and physique.
