#MEETTHEPLUG: King of Dance Hall, REDSAN!!!

He is down-to-earth, cool, calm and collected when we met him at the Koroga Festival Press Release. The King of Dance Hall had the following responses to the questions we asked:

QN: You’ve been in the industry for quite sometime. You have over 5 albums. Which is your favorite albums from the albums you’ve released?

I love all my songs but I chose Season of the San album. It has a personal touch and feel.

QN: Did you receive the Ksh 2530 from MCSK and what’s your view on the money, MCSK given to artists?

(As he laughs) No… Am not under the Music Copy Rights of Kenya. We had issues back in the days and we went separate ways. It is sad to see what’s happening inn the industry

QN: Scandals and there, what led to a fuse between you and your producer from Tanzania?

He was not my producer. He just assisted in producing a song when we needed to do stuff in Kenya. The bigger you are, the bigger scandals follow suit.

QN: Which label is producing Redsan Music?

Am under Sony Music, which is a professional label. Sony is the best.

QN: What’s the relationship between Redsan and Jamaican?

I grew up listening to Dance Music. It has been my genre for decade. It is something have mastered the art and pushed it.

QN: Apart from Red Music, whose music do you listen to ?

I listened to Timmy Tdat, Khaligraph, basically those whom I have done collabos with.

QN: There are people who say like; you seem to be beloved through nature than music. What’s your take on that?

Well am down-to-earth and its key. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you are, what status you are in, what label you are under but the relationship you have with people should be good.

QN: What’s your view on the new age musicians that are coming up?

They are good. I like their content though the problem is they are having war with the media right now. They have a content that is being checked, banned every time. I’ll advise them to know their fan base and what they are doing before they release their content.

QN: Which country of destination would you love to travel to in the world?

I will definitely choose Seychelles, anytime…any day.

QN: What should you fun expect in the future?

New music is coming. 2020 will be a boom for Redsan fans. I will be hitting the waves than before. I don’t wanna spoil the surprise.
