The 8th edition of Thrift Social dubbed, the Wax Print Edition,  went down last weekend October 2nd at Privee, Westlands. The event was started last year by sibling duo Velma Rossa and Papa Petit in order to create an engaging vehicle for young creative entrepreneurs to showcase their talents through fashion, music and art.

The usually chilled out event normally attracts the urban and cool crown in Nairobi who happen to have a unique sense of style.

In line this this edition’s theme, folks came out clad in mainly wax prints well matched with other pieces and accessories. The Afro-punk feel was just perfect for a Sunday afternoon. The special guest of the day, Ghanian sound and style artist, Dj Steloolive was in the building keeping guests entertained. Taio (Cosmic Homies) and Mix Master Lenny were also on the decks doing what they know best.

The event gives artists and guests an opportunity to network and share ideas. You can’t believe all the style tips you can get in one afternoon! You get to meet a couple of local celebs in the process too!
