South African comedian and current host of The Daily show on American TV screens Trevor Noah was last night swimming in what we can call ultimate success. The MTV TV and Movie Awards were held last night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and Noah managed to scoop the best Host Award for The Daily Show beating rivals such as Ellen DeGeneres of the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

It is certainly becoming a dream come true for the Soweto born comedian who seems to be surprising many as he continues to climb to the top. Trevor Noah was never thought as a suitable addition to The Daily Show in the first place but he seems to be handling himself well. His award proves that he is more capable of handling the pressure and overcoming failure.

The MTV TV and Movie Awards also surprised many fans by introducing the gender-neutral award which identifies the best overall actor. This is a move that has come after the same award was introduced at The Grammys. Emma Watson who acts as Belle in Beauty and The Beast movie took home the award for best actor in this new gender-neutral category beating fierce rivals Hugh Jackman of Logan and Daniel Kaluuya of Get Out.

There were also big wins for Taraji P. Henson who took home the Best Hero in a movie category award. Get Out which has been a great movie so far this year also took home several awards especially the star of the movie Daniel Kaluuya. Kaluuya got the Next Generation category award.
