Two men were arrested on Sunday for kidnap after they demanded Sh10 million to release a USIU student they had lured to their trap online.

The men were arrested in Githurai Kizito area, Nairobi after being trailed to a house where they kept the 27 year-old student since Wednesday.

Christine Chepkurui Rono was kidnapped at Imara Daima estate after she made contact with her abductors through Facebook.

The kidnappers had posed as businessmen who claimed they were ready to boost her to start a business.

Police said after Rono and the kidnappers exchanged contacts, they agreed to meet. The police said;

“The kidnappers sent a taxi to pick her from Imara Daima to a place they were to meet but later turned against her,”

The car used to ferry the kidnap victim from Imara Daima was also seized during a police operation targeting the criminals. The police said:

“The men will be taken to court on Monday.
