A USIU-Africa student has finally agreed to meet the family of the slain artist whom he hit at a grisly road accident at Gwa Kiru area along Thika road near Ruiru town on October 6, 2016.
Kelvin Mwangi has spoken to the media and was quoted saying that:
“I shall be meeting up with the family when the right time comes. However, I do not wish to say more about this because the story is not about me but about the deceased’s family and they have already talked to the press about it.”
According to a police source, the 22-year- old student was driving towards Nairobi from One Four area before hitting Dominic Macharia whose head was cut off after hitting the metal rails along the highway due to the impact of the accident.
The victim’s mother, Mary Ng’endo said that there existed a general understanding that the motorist would not have intentionally caused the accident that killed her son but wondered why the young man did not make attempts to meet them to sort out the issue. She however reiterated that the family would leave the matter to proceed to court but the police said the case would remain weak as the victim had crossed the road at an undesignated location for pedestrians.
Dominic Macharia was an artist as well as an employee at Bidco company. At the moment before his demise in the accident was looking to hook up with other artists like Jaguar and King Kaka whose drawings he had made.
The mother of the victim is also looking forward to meeting the two artists to present them with their drawings as it had been her son’s intent and therefore would feel happy.
“The two had inspired my son through their music and he had made drawings of them which would be good for them to see”
The Varcity family send out condolences to the friends and family of Dominic.
