What made Citizen TV defend one of their reporters who was bashed online and took time to defend Jacky Maribe?

When one Victor  Kinuthia took reporting on Murang’a saga, Netizens didn’t spare his journalistic skills. They came to fry his prowess in English, he had to suffer a lot of criticism. He was reporting with his Kikuyu accent taking the better part of the reporting.

He trended for the better part of the night. Some people accused the media of giving incompetent people jobs at the expense of you know someone in the media. Some claim for one to be given a job, you must know someone.

Now citizen TV journalist came to his rescue and defended his journalism saying he will be good to go as time goes by. One thing that many tend to ask, why did they take time to own Ms. Jacky Maribe when she had a case to answer?

The same energy they used to defend one of their correspondent should have been used to defend Jacky Maribe.

“I’ve done this for 21 years and I can tell you it’s no walk in the park. Victor found himself in a breaking news situation and gave it his best- his first live report of that kind. He’s destined for greatness. Truly proud of him.”

Top journalists in the industry including Hussein Mohammed, Yvonne Okwara, Victoria Rubadiri and Francis Gachuri were also rooting for him.

Victor Kinuthia will be FINE. He was thrown deep end as journalism demands in such a breaking news situation. He has the right attitude and with self belief, confidence and a winning spirit, Victor is destined for greatness. We will accord him all the support. https://twitter.com/YvonneOkwara/status/1171135229286916096
