Education has always been seen as the light to every individual. Majority of people can agree the power to read and write has facilitated change in the society. Some societies that adapted education in the first hand have some fruits to bear.
After the class eight pupils sat for their exams last year, majority passed their examinations. The education system in Kenya has been met with a lot of challenges even as the government tries to push for the 100% transition.
This transition has not been facilitated yet by the government. From the look of things, majority of students have failed to get money to cater for their school fees. Despite the government subsidizing education it is still expensive for many .
Some of the students who have lost hope in continuing with their education have end up committing suicide. We’ve lost many due to the pressure that has come every year as they lack means of joining secondary education.
This year in particular, many well-wishers have stood to help students whose hope were about to end. The government needs to have a long term goal for the Kenyan child . As they plan for 100% transition, we need also to plan on how they will be able to transition.
The population also that sat for K.C.P.E was about a million and they are scrambling for the 10,000 schools in the country. The Ministry of Education should also facilitate the schools that the students are joining are well equipped.
