Nigerian afro-popstar Wizkid is the first African artist to feature in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid became the first Afro-pop artist on Guinness Book of World Records after his hit One Dance reached over a billion streams.

This record means the song is registered as the most played song on Spotify. The Nigerian sensation was featured by Drake along with Kyla Reid.

Its established success also opened doors to new collaborations with biggest names in the music industry in America for Wizkid from chilling in the studio with Nicki Minaj to doing a remix of a song with Chris Brown and a track with Drake, the music world re opened for ‘The Starboy’.

Nigerian fans will be quick to attribute the success to Wizkid and believe he meant it when he sang “Everything I touch turns into gold”.
