Zetech University is set to battle heavy weights Kenyatta University and University of Nairobi for this year’s OLX SOMA Awards set for next month.The 5th Annual OLX SOMA Awards list has finally been revealed with the voting process now left for the public to decide. The Gala is set to be held on 23rd June.
The three Universities will battle it out for the best Institution award. The list also has another giant institution in Mount Kenya University. The voting was opened to the public early Tuesday morning and the awards will be awarded to the institution with the highest number of votes. All the shortlisted Universities will have to convince both their students and their online followers to vote for them in order to clinch the top award come 23rd next month.
OLX Kenya, Deloitte and Expose are the main sponsors of this years awards with the annual event coming to its 5th season. This year’s theme is Celebrating Five Years of Achievement. According to the awards website, the Gala that is to be held next month will be started off by previous winner who will also grace the occasion.
Martin Muli, CEO and founder of SOMA awards has laid out the importance of this event and said that social media personalities have a big say in how Kenyan online presence is presented and so should be recognized. The list has various voting categories including Social media personalities of the year among others. The full list of the nominees and the judges can be found here.
